Last night DJ Snake made history by performing atop the Arc De Triomphe to a global online audience of more than 1.5 million. This celebrates his monumental accession from the South West suburbs of Paris to this special moment in French history and culture. DJ Snake is the first performing artist afforded permission by the Centre Des Monuments Nationaux and the city of Paris to do so.
The event began with a piece shot in Paris during the day, which shows DJ Snake’s journey from his childhood to standing on the roof of one of the world’s most famous buildings.
Broadcast to the world live on Facebook and Instagram using groundbreaking technology in an exciting digital first that saw viewers around the globe enjoy a multi camera mobile experience during the live event that was directed by Grammy- nominated Colin Tilley.
DJ Snake announced new music during the stream, and has since announced he will be playing his first French arena show at AccorHotels Arena, Paris, on February 24th 2018. Last night’s spectacle marks the next musical chapter for DJ Snake with his new single ‘A Different Way’ featuring Lauv due for release on September 22nd.
“Paris is my city. My home. It’s the place where I grew up, that taught me life. I am inspired by these streets, a melting pot of so many cultures. I was asked to do this for Paris. To give back to the city that gave me so much. I wanted to present my journey, my music, my new song, in my city. These streets to feel it first. And to all of you who watched at home who have supported me on this journey. To the top of my world. Merci.” – DJ Snake
