Sonic Selections Presents: Meltdown Mondays 05.29.17

Hey guys, a lil bit of everything today! Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend <3

KYLE Feat. Lil Yachty – “iSpy” (GRIMECRAFT Remix)

I’ve heard quite a few “meh” remixes to this track by Cali rapper KYLE but pretty much anytime Grimecraft decides to put his pixelated touches on something, I love it. Definitely looking forward to playing this out in the very near future.

Passion Pit – “Sleepyhead” (Two Friends Remix)

You guys have no idea how long I’ve waited for not only a good remix to this track, but holy hell, just a remix in general. This is my favorite Passion Put track and it’s great to finally hear it with a new coat of paint. This remix is done by LA duo Two Friends.

Katie Rex – “Francis VII”

This track has such a crunchy, delicious synth-line to it…I was groovin’ so hard all week to this, even if it is a few months old. Plus, anytime I can show some love to a fellow bad ass creative female in such a male dominated industry, well, I’m very about that life.

Pokemon Ruby/Saphire/Emerald OST – “End of a Journey” (Kabuki Remix)

Any video game beats, specifically Pokemon-related ones, are pretty much a shoe-in on Meltdown Mondays. This one here was done by Kabuki, who is from Washington D.C.

RoBKTA – “My Way” [Patreon Exclusive Beat #4]

I hadn’t seen much recently from Italy’s RoBKTA and was thinking about him and all of his future funk beats the other day actually. Here’s a new one he just put out, but the main difference here is that RoBKTA is now using the website Patreon to interact with his fans. Think kickstarter, but more so for creative projects rather then business ideas. His profile is pretty cool – you can get everything to monthly exclusives to lessons from the producer.

Sumthin Sumthin & Lemay – “Stunt”‘

THAT NOISE IS TASTY AS ALL HELL. As someone who is subjected to a ton of generic BS, it does the body well to hear different sounds and noises and samples used in tracks, and these guys did this with “Stunt.

ghost/\/ghoul – “Danger”

Closing out Meltdown Monday’s this week is this super cloud-like, pink and blue sky track by Florida’s ghost/\/ghoul. Come float away.
