Russian Duo Dropgun Makes An Impressive Solo Entry To Don Diablo’s HEXAGON Imprint With ‘Noboby’

Dropgun

Dropgun has been building momentum for a couple of years now. The Russian act made its first major impact in 2014 with the DVBBS collab ‘Pyramids’, immediately released on Spinnin’ Records and picked up worldwide.

What followed was a string of club favorites, including singles ‘Amsterdam’ (Oxygen) and last year’s collab with Tony Junior, the hit release ‘Cobra’. Meanwhile, the duo kept evolving its sound, recently making an amazing first impression on Don Diablo’s HEXAGON dropping the disco fueled ‘Fever’, a collab with Farleon featured on the Generation HEX ADE Sampler.

And now, the guys are back! On solo duty this time, with their very own release on HEXAGON titled ‘Nobody’. It’s a dance track that’s got funk written all over it, including nice guitar licks and energetic melodics, perfected by the vocals known for Prodigy fame.

DJ support has already come from the best out there, including Oliver Heldens, Sam Feldt, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Quintino, Laidback Luke, W&W and R3hab.

We wanted to create a track which would work perfectly at a dance floor. And we also wanted to sign a track on the HEXAGON label for a long time because we very much like Don Diablo’s creativity.
So when we starting working on this track, we really aimed to bring something original, and brought in a special breakdown, and the funk and nu-disco elements. But we didn’t stop there. We wanted the track to be memorable, and we had an idea to use the familiar and loved by all vocal sample from The Prodigy’s track ‘No Good’. We added a vocal, and it perfectly fitted into the mood of the breakdown. Afterwards, when it was finished, we sent the track to HEXAGON, and Don Diablo told us: “This is DOPE!”. So we did it and got signed on HEXAGON!” – Dropgun
