On these beautiful, sunny, summer days how badly do you want to have a refreshing drink with all your friends outside by the gorgeous Charles River? Now that summer is back, you can!
This Saturday May 21st, Boston’s favorite day party “Dancing On The Charles” returns! Located at 442 Marsh Post in Cambridge.
“Dancing On The Charles” is an outdoor party that was started by the infamous underground music group, Soul Clap. Once-Boston residents, they began this outdoor party as a place to stimulate the growth of Boston’s small, but vibrant underground dance music community. Years after moving to the greener musical pastures of New York City, Rose Krueger decided that she was going to keep the dream of a thriving underground music community alive! She restarted the series as a small block party called “Dancing On The Block” in her Cambridge neighborhood, but after joining forces with Party Bison, Randy Deshaies and years of noise complaints, they decided to move the party to Marsh Post and recieved Soul Clap‘s blessing to resurrect the name “Dancing On The Charles.” Fast forward four years and the evolution of the event is staggering! They bring in bigger acts, have better amenities, including a fleet of food trucks and the party is run like a well-oiled machine.
The featured artist on Saturday is an incredibly talented Boston-based producer – Nate Almeida, otherwise known as B3RAO. In late 2013, Boston local B3RAO partnered up with verteran DJ and producer, TWISM to start DISCO, LEGENDS, SOULFUL LEGENDS, and DEEP N DIRTY LEGENDS. They also have releases on the legendary record labels Nervous Records and Karmic Power Records. During the past two and a half years TWISM & B3RAO have released over 100 tracks, with more than 40 of them reaching Traxsource charts, with their song “Different Strokes” reaching the top 10 on Beatport’s R&B and Hip hop charts.
