Happy Thursday, and welcome to the soundtrack to your snow day. After a breif hiatus, Sonic Agenda is bringing you a refresher on the latest and greatest trance and progressive you can buy today.
On this week’s trance playlist, we’re kicking things off with the controversial new tune by Gareth Emery & Standerwick on the Monstercat label, titled Saving Light. Following, we have one of the largest Anjunabeats releases in recent memory ahead of Anjunabeats 13 being released on Friday. The two Anjunabeats North America heavyweight headliners, Andrew Bayer and Ilan Bluestone, teamed up for Destiny, as first heard in their ABGT200 set. Following these, we’ve got the latest from RAM, with RAMexico ahead of Heatbeat and Indecent Noise’s latest records. Following here is one of my favorite records of the week, Cold Blue’s Fall Into Dusk. The atmosphere this creates, both pulling you in and letting your mind drift, is what trance music is truly all about.
Taking it a notch darker, Skylex lends a remix to stomp out on the dance floor with psytrance energy. PureNRG is back and making the most of their superduo, with the new release Prophecy both being uplifting and dark at the same time. A producer I’ve heard less of before, Gerome, is in our playlist this week due to his excellent record “Secret of Life”, bringing a truly proper trance sound. TrancEye follows kicking it up a notch, with Night’s Watch, an incredible uplifter of a tune. Time To Go Back by Jochen Miller follows, with synth leads that you can instantly imagine ringing through an Armin Van Buuren set.
Following up is Boston’s own Andski, with his excellent latest release “Blossom”. A remix by none other than LTN leads us on with his progressive trance sound you’ve come to expect in a great way. Andy Wide’s remix of Flowstate’s Opia continues the progressive trance journey ahead of a major comeback. Arty’s alias, Alpha 9, is officially back in business. His first release in years, The Night is Ours on Armada, brings that classic arty trance sound back in a beautiful way. He’s following this momentum with an Anjunabeats release tomorrow, and fresh off the press, he’s been announced to play an Alpha 9 set at Ultra Music Festival this year in Miami.
There’s some excellent music out now and much to the opposite opinion of Gareth & Monstercat’s marketing team, trance is strong as ever. Enjoy the music as the snow falls back, and I’ll see you back next time!
