Sonic Selections Presents: Meltdown Mondays 05.01.17
Hey guys, this week’s Meltdown Monday is super heavy on that SoundCloud trap music that we started with. A couple fun surprises mixed in along the way too!
JOURNAL – “OK”
Legit the funkiest track. You will make an incredible stank face the whole way through. Enjoy said stank face. The above link will bring you to Journal’s (New Zealand) second account, but you can find both there.
chris††† – “Frog God”
File under “weird but good”. Get your clips about memes and San Andreas cut scene music and mash it up into a legitimately well-thought out vaporwave track by Business Casual founder chris†††.
Vicious bass on this track, love that. Also really digging the Yoshi samples from Yoshi’s Story and Boo ghost samples from Super Mario 64 and original Mario Party mini-games. It’s hard to find stuff that flashes me back to this in-between time period – too young to be vaporwave, and too old to be remembered by most producers on SoundCloud.
Seattle meets Puerto Rico on this bass-heavy trapstar track. I usually leave heavier stuff off Meltdown Mondays but this really fits the vibe and headspace I try and feed to you guys each week. Meltdown Mondays has never really been about one specific genre, but more so about how you feel tasting each song. And this one bangs.
This is one of the best remixes I have ever heard of this track, point blank.
This one’s a little bit older by a couple months, but it was released on a remix pack this past week in lieu of BK Beats new EP “Strangers” dropping.
STRIDER -“Laser Grid Road”
Closing out Meltdown Mondays this week, I saved one of the best for last. Neon & electric & fast & fun.
