James Blake bleeds soul and emotion on every one of his outstandingly produced tracks. Blake has pioneered a creative combination of live jazz instrumentation and structure, poetic lyricism, and stellar production techniques to express himself. (See: James Blake’s “Limit to Your Love” or “I Never Learnt to Share”).
Recently, Blake has been collaborating with rappers (RZA and Chance the Rapper) to experiment and delve deeper into incorporating Hip-Hop elements into his production.
“Life Round Here” has many of James’ usual musical elements: the ever so beautiful Prophet 8 synth, low-passed percussions, and his characteristic vocals. However, this time we have a verse from Chance the Rapper whose voice sits at the perfect frequency range to complement the rest of the track.
